![]() ![]() In Xonotic you have a lot of movement control while you are in the air (“air control”), and to a great extent you’ll accelerate when pressing the forward button while flying. You may have noticed that players race around the maps at insane speeds, making them hard to hit and also hard to tell from which direction they’ll come next, should you survive an attack. Understanding and mastering Xonotic’s movement is a key success factor in this game, apart from making it incredibly fun to play once you get the hang of it. MovementĮven though people tend to be more interested in what the weapons do when they first try out a new first person shooter, I prefer to follow the structure that I established for my live newbie tutorials and to start off with the movement. The purpose of this Newbie Corner is to allow any new player to develop the same skills that experienced players have already gained, simply by showing how it works. The skill gap between newbies and experienced players mostly results from newbies not knowing gameplay mechanics and therefore lacking the ability to acquire skill in the first place. There are a couple of mechanisms implemented in the game that effectively prevent cheating, and from my personal experience I am confident to say that cheating is not really an issue in Xonotic. That’s how I myself learned about blaster jumping and strafe turning for example.Įven if the skill gap between you and another player is immense, it is highly improbable that the other player is cheating. Some of them might even offer to show you around by giving you a short live tutorial. Most of the experienced players will take their time to shortly explain gameplay techniques to newbies if asked nicely. If you meet very strong players online and wonder how they do certain things, it usually pays off to simply ask them. Remember that the Xonotic player community is generally considered a very friendly and helpful one and for many people (including me) this is the key aspect that gets one hooked to this game. So if you want to fully apply the knowledge gained from this tutorial, search for vanilla servers (Xonotic icon next to it in server browser) or use the official ones. Whereas movement aspects should usually apply more or less unchanged to modified servers offering minstagib, vehicle ctf or Overkill gameplay, I will not explain the specifics of these game modifications/mutators - I simply lack the expertise in non-vanilla game modes. Note that all this applies to vanilla Xonotic. It includes the information of all six blog posts of the Newbie Corner as well as some new things that have changed or that I didn’t think about back then. This tutorial aims at showing all fundamental aspects of vanilla gameplay to enable new players to pick up the ropes quickly.

Once the beds are destroyed, the last team remaining achieves victory for themselves or the group. While playing, your goal is to destroy the beds of other teams while simultaneously protecting your own. The moment it is destroyed, however, you will no longer be capable of respawning. While playing, you can respawn an infinite number of times as long as your bed is still present at your base. In Bedwars, the most important aspect of all is the bed itself. In the prompt, choose to remove all server files. While on the main panel page, press Reset Server Files in the left-hand menu.(Optional) If needed, backup any files through the server’s FTP. ![]() ![]() Navigate to the Apex Server Panel, then stop the server. This can prevent conflicts between plugins, worlds, and other files which can lead to crashes. When playing a premade server gametype, we highly suggest removing all server files ahead of time. With Apex Hosting, installing the Bedwars gametype is as simple as selecting a dropdown menu option, so we have created this tutorial to guide you through the steps to get started. This normally requires configurations, but when using our pre-made gametype, all of the required worlds, files, and plugins come preconfigured for your use. This twist on the Skywars gamemode sees players fight across airborne platforms while trying to break the bed of other teams to prevent respawning. With this in mind, the concept of Player vs Player and beds were combined into the Bedwars Gametype. As you play on a Minecraft server, beds can be a saving grace, allowing you to respawn at a familiar location instead of somewhere unknown. ![]() I’ve always been a huge fan of Scott Campbell. Who are some of your favorite current tattoo artists? ![]() They are very special and feel really meaningful to me. I love the tattoos on my hands because I got them for my family, my kids and my wife. It took me 10 years into getting tattoos to start understanding what I like personally and what to look out for.ĭo you have a personal favorite tattoo, and is there a significant meaning behind it? ![]() It’s great for people who are interested in tattoos to watch it and learn about what they like and become an expert on what to look for in mistakes, whether it’s the line work or the colors. What I love about this competition is that while you watch it, you also learn a lot about tattooing. Then you go to the application of the tattoo, so a good application is a must and altogether constitutes a well-rounded tattoo. I look for originality and art that speaks to you. What are you looking for specifically in what constitutes a great tattoo? Tattooing is physically exhausting, and I can’t imagine doing three or four hours of it, and then having to come back and film. It’s not hard for me, I would say - it’s just fun. They really are tattooing, and not only are with us when we’re setting up a challenge but have to come back to be critiqued. The tattoo artists have the longest hours. How rigorous was the filming process for the show? You have to be a little crazy to do it, but it’s the best of the best on this show. The challenges are really crazy, and most artists like to be in control of what they’re creating, so to come into a competition and compete against other great artists takes a lot of courage. It takes a lot of grit, stomach and thick skin, so you really gain a newfound respect for the artists who come to compete. Not too many artists, in general, would do that because it’s really hard to put yourself out there knowing that only one person is going to win. These tattoo artists are putting themselves out there by coming on this platform. The competition is very serious with a lot at stake, so it’s very exciting to watch it all unfold in real-time. They care deeply about the tattoo artists. What was the chemistry like on set with the rest of the cast, artists, judges and co-hosts?Įverybody is just very down-to-earth, nice, and they really know what they’re talking about. Any tattoo enthusiast that gets to go to a convention, meet artists and experience the things they’re interested in is less like work and more like an enjoyable hobby. It was like eating at your favorite restaurant or going to your favorite place to have coffee. As a connoisseur of tattoos and an enthusiast of the tattoo culture, I feel like this was so easy. It’s rewarding to see people who have given their entire life to art and to get their perspective. I get to be a judge and a host with three other professionals who really know their shit. With this show, it’s a large group of people, and it really comes down to the tattoo artists first. There are things about it that are harder because it does live and die by our success collectively. Some things about that are easier because I’ve been with this band since high school, so we all know each other so well onstage. When I’m onstage with the band, I have to lead the show. I am the frontman, so I am a little bit of a host of sorts. Performing onstage with Good Charlotte has been the best training I could have ever had. How does hosting a TV series compare to performing live with your band Good Charlotte? You obviously have a background in hosting television, largely due to your stint as a coach on the Australian version of The Voice, so I can imagine you felt pretty comfortable hosting the new show from the beginning. I was a fan of the show - I watched it with my kids, and it was one of the shows that we watched a lot during the pandemic. It’s done really well on Paramount+, and so the audience has grown over time. They organically just reached out, and they were looking to reboot the series. How did you initially get linked up with INK MASTER and the team at Paramount+? Research shows that children who attend kindergarten readiness programs such as preschool, TK or similar programs offered by public or private organizations are more likely to do well in school and attend college. Even though this new requirement may seem small, California created the TK program to give children affected by this change to have the opportunity to continue to build their skills and abilities. Under this new law, children must now turn 5 on or before September 1 st, where previously children could enroll if they turned 5 on or before December 2 nd. The TK program was implemented when California changed the age requirement to start Kindergarten in 2010 under the Kindergarten Readiness Act. The TK program is designed as a bridge between preschool and kindergarten. It has always been assumed that the worm was caught by the early bird, because it was late in getting back to its hole. But what was never explained was the view from the worm side. Early risers in my primary school were held with awe, at least by me because I wasn't one of them. It worked the intended magic we woke up early. "The earliest bird catches the worm."
